The Village Collection, along with its partners Village Manufacturing, Village Finishing and California Cabinet Installation have created a “Family” business whose number one mission is to serve our customers needs. Working together our family has become a multi-million dollar organization that still maintains a friendly and personable way of doing business. Actively communicating through all phases of each project, Design to Finishing, we strive to tailor the best product and experience for our customers.

A fresh college graduate with a B.S. in Psychology Marty left his position of 7 years at Marine World Africa USA as Land Animal Supervisor and Elephant Handler. Inspired by his soon to be bride he starts building custom furniture for their home. Soon after Marty contracts with a local Art Gallery and Picture Frame shop manufacturing Custom Wood Frames. After moving his growing business from his basement to a small commercial shop Marty began an Apprenticeship with a local building contractor to learn the remodeling process, splitting his time between learning and growing his own business.
In 1987 Debbie Schwartz with a B.A. in Design was off to England for Graduate study in Architecture at the University of Bath. On her return she partners with Marty bringing her own unique design style to The Village Collection.
The same year Ralph Schwartz, Debbie's future husband, joins the company as Production Manager developing the initial manufacturing process for the ever-growing business.

In 1999 Bryan Campbell, a long time engineer at The Village Collection, leaves to start his own company, California Cabinet Installation. With Bryan's knowledge and leadership CCI has become a leader in its industry. Expertly installing Custom Cabinetry with care and precision.
By 2002 Articulate Finishing was the recommended finisher of choice of The Village Collection. This was in no small part due to the creativity and expertise of partner Chad Blakney. Chad's reputation as a "Color Master" is well deserved throughout the Bay Area. The Village Collection purchased Articulate Finishing in 2002 eventually adopting the name "Village Finishing" in 2005.
